Creating the DesignThe Finished Product

Arts Connect and Print Shop are unique, age-appropriate recreational programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Both take place in MDC’s office located at 1416 Avenue M.

Arts Connect is a comprehensive arts program in which participants use a variety of techniques including collage, oil pastels, and colored pencils to create works of art. The program takes place Thursday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m..

Print Shop takes place Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Participants design their own wearable work of art by using Adobe Creative Suite and transfer technology to place their design onto a t-shirt or tote bag.

By appointment. Both programs are for OPWDD FSS Waiver-enrolled participants. For more information, contact Julian Akins, Director of Youth, Recreational, and Arts Programs, at 718-376-0999 ext. 109.
