Brooklyn Community Board 14 (CB14) will present this year’s Annual Youth Conference on Thursday, March 15th. The event is geared to those 12-21 years of age, and is free and open to all.

In 2008, Brooklyn Community Board 14 started the CB14 Youth Conference to help local teens find jobs, internships, and other opportunities within the communities of Flatbush, Midwood, parts of Kensington and beyond.

Over the past 11 years, thousands of teens have discovered their paths to success at the Brooklyn Community Board 14 Youth Conference.

MEET & GREET
Teens and young adults have a chance to meet with representatives from more than 80 organizations, which offer jobs, internships, and other opportunities. Because of these interactions, thousands of teens over the years have gained invaluable experience for charting their futures.

WORKSHOPS
Throughout the conference, 15-minute topical workshops will be offered. In past years, those topics have covered how to apply for a job, how to apply for and fund a college education, best practices for handling problems like bullying, and more. This year’s set of topics to be announced. Visit the event’s Facebook page for updates.

MOCK INTERVIEWS
A group of professionals from a variety of industries will host brief mock interviews with interested teens, and will offer constructive feedback that teens can use to improve their interview performance for jobs, colleges, and virtually any other opportunities they want to pursue.
