On Thursday, Dec. 18th, New York State Senator Simcha Felder strolled Midwood, visiting some of the merchants participating in Shop Midwood Week, organized by the Midwood Merchants Association (MMA). Sen. Felder visited with Moshe and Esther Prnes, owners of B&B Party at 1208 Avenue M, and posed for a photo along Midwood Development Corp’s Executive Director, Linda Goodman. Sen. Felder also visited with Gus and Gus Vellios, grandather and grandson, and owners of  Avenue J Florist, in business for 83 years at 1502 Avenue J.

Participating businesses are offering special sales and discounts during Shop Midwood Week, which runs through Dec. 28th. In addition, the MMA is introducing its Shop Midwood customer loyalty cards, which entitles the bearer to discounted goods and services through June 30, 2015. Cards are available at participating businesses.
