Mardi Gras 2017 was truly an event for the ages! Thank you so much to our wonderful community for once again coming out to enjoy an afternoon of fun on Avenue M!
This year’s event was the 40th Annual Mardi Gras, and we believe it was the best yet. And based on the feedback we’ve gotten, our friends and neighbors agree.
There was plenty of food and fun, especially for the kids! Free face painting was provided by the Midwood Merchants Association, and kids also enjoyed rides, games, attractions, and pony rides.
Grownups also enjoyed strolling the avenue, shopping, snacking, and chatting with friends and neighbors. Many local officials also joined in the fun, including NYC Council Members Chaim Deutsch and David Greenfield, State Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, and Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
Did you get your Mardi Gras T-shirt? A limited number is still available, for just $10, with proceeds going to MDC’s Summer Camp! Get yours now by calling 718-376-0999.
