Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito announced the results of participatory budgeting (PB) in Brooklyn this week.

Here in the Midwood area, some 500,000 has been allocated for street repairs on Avenue J, Avenue K, Nostrand Avenue, and Ocean Avenue.

Locally, council members participating in PB include Mathieu Eugene, David Greenfield, and Jumaane Williams. Participatory budgeting (PB) is a democratic process by which residents vote on how to spend part of a public budget. More than 26,000 Brooklynites cast ballots throughout the borough during the 2015-2016 PB cycle.
