The Vitagraph smokestack will remain standing, according to an article in the Brooklyn Eagle.

The smokestack is an iconic remnant of bygone Vitagraph Studios.

Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the iconic smokestack, once a part of the historic Vitagraph film studio, will not be torn down by Hampshire Properties, which now owns the site on which it stands. Hampshire Properties is building an eight-story, 302-unit residential building on the site at 1277 East 14th St.
