Neighbors from near and far came out to enjoy this year’s Mardi Gras — the 38th annual event — held on Sunday, June 28th. Avenue M was bustling with visitors browsing the goods and goodies from the numerous merchandise and food vendors.

There were attractions for folks of all ages, including live music from the Ari Baumann Orchestra; a magic show, featuring Apollo Riego; pony rides; chess; the FDNY fire safety experience; face painting; and much, much more.

Check out photos from the event below. Thank you to Mike Wright and the Midwood-Flatbush News Blog for capturing such fantastic images of the day. Click on individual photos to enlarge.

See you at next year’s Midwood Mardi Gras!

The Midwood Mardi Gras was sponsored by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and supported by Apple Bank for Savings, Dime Savings Bank, and the Midwood Civic Action Council.
